The first SSO track presenting the sounds, the feeling, the resonance of mercury is the same named track on the premiere CD, the album PLANETS that was released in 1991 on the danish label foenix Music.
In terms of the arrangement MERCURY shows up as a traditional e.m. track with all the classical motives of a proper cosmic track. Spheric intro sounds, a great pumping gong layer, a bender stretched lead sound, cosmic tubular bells, decent melody in the back and than comes the bass appregiator....
This track was transformed on the later KOSMOPHONON album into the track NEW LYRA and on the PHANTASTISCHE PHÄNOMENE cd it morphed into ON AIR and as THE MESSENGER it was a great track on the Live in London Album.
A real shift happened, when the essential mercury theme changed completly on the album PSY FORCE. The most beautiful track AJUNDRIA came up with a complete new image of the mercury feeling. Maybe it was the lately discovered hidden feminine aspect of the mythological figur of Hermes, Mercury, the messenger of god.
Probably it is just a concept of a male dominated patricharchical way of life to give god a male gender and make his personal media secretary a male as well. It seems that in terms of the needed evolution of manking(d) SSO were the first to realize, that mercury / hermes could have a feminine side as well.
The voice on the track Ajundria is a polynesian poem and it tells about looking on life from a after life perspective. It is a little bit sweet sad romantic sort of songtrack. It is definitly a tremendous beautiful timeless highlight in the arena of all SSO´s tracks.
